Common Misconceptions of Technology

Creativity is defined as the use of imagination or original ideas to create something new. In retrospect, we personified paintings, sculptures, literary works and composed music as the quintessential example to one's virtuosity. We helmed mentorship and practiced to use tools and instruments as a way to sharpen creativity. As the time went on, we have developed technology that made us more stationary, as we are are able to accomplish things on our desks. Globalization aroused and replaced the bygone era. This brought the notion that technology has stifled creativity, but we have we forgotten that creativity is creating something new and that technology is the best example of human creativity; we have made a system that connects our world and made communication possible. There are a myriad of unseen talents fostered through the use of technology.

In the perspective of many people, the convenience technology made us lazy, consequently blaming it for our procrastination and unproductiveness. Although they are correct, there is no evidence that it stifles creativity to those people who use technology as the medium to make something new. As a matter of fact, computer technology made us see new ways to imagine and create beautiful works that cannot be done on traditional methods. If we are to look for examples, animated movies, computerized artworks and digital planning are a product of creativity and innovation. Additionally, we can learn through comprehensive guides and videos offered by websites around the web. Technology has not suppressed our creativity, rather it has instigated our inner talent by assisting us through the process of before, during and after. There are a myriad of things we must be thankful for it's existence, one of those is that mastery of talent is easier and accessible through the use of technology.

Creativity is something innately within us, the question is how we are able to unleash it. The invention of technology is just one way to explore and find our niche. We are creative through our own ways, we are free to choose whatever tool we want to make something, even if it seems against our established ethos. There is no bad or negative creativity as for every iteration and contribution of ideas comes the development of our society than in turn will benefit us all.
